These Red, White, and Blue Jell-O Shots are a super easy addition to any Fourth of July cook out or party! You can make these patriotic Jell-O shots kiddo friendly, or add some vodka for the adults.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounce package blue JELLO
  • 3 ounce package cherry JELLO
  • 1 cup boiling water divided
  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin
  • 3/4 cup milk divided
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup vodka
  • Whipped cream
  • edible gold stars

Instructions

  • Empty the blue Jell-O package into a small bowl and mix with 1/2 cup boiling water until the powder is completely dissolved. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes then add about 1/2 cup vodka if using.
  • Prepare the disposable cups by placing one in each muffin tin tilted on one side.
  • Divide the blue Jell-O evenly between the cups. Place in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes or until set.
  • Prepare the white layer by mixing one packet of unflavored gelatin in a small bowl with ¼ cup milk. Heat remaining milk in a small saucepan until hot but not boiling. Add the sugar, vanilla extract, and ½ cup vodka if using. Combine the warmed milk mixture with the gelatin milk mixture and whisk to combine.
  • Flip each of the disposable cups to the opposite side of the muffin tin. Evenly pour the white Jell-O layer over the blue. Place back into the refrigerator until set.
  • Empty the red Jell-O package into a small bowl and mix with 1/2 cup boiling water until the powder is completely dissolved. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes then add about 1/2 cup vodka if using.
  • Set the cups upright in the muffin tin, and evenly divide the red Jell-O over top of the white layer. Allow to set in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours or until completely set.
  • Once you are ready to serve, top with whipped cream and edible gold stars!

Notes

If you want to make a kiddo safe version, omit the vodka and replace with the same amount of boiling water. For the white layer, replace with milk.
